Time lapse painting

Last weekend I spent an entire day creating an acrylic painting for my good friend's film project for one of his college courses. It's been a long time since I've dusted off the paints so it was great experience especially with the studio lighting. The goal was to produce a short time lapse video which meant pausing every few minutes to take short 1 second clips to be sped up during production. After a day of enjoying the process of working traditionally, I believe I will work this way more often :) Enjoy the photos guys and let me know what you think.

Horsey ride

Hey guys, its been awhile since I've posted anything interesting so I figured I'd cure your urges. For some reason I've had this image in my head of a chimp riding one of those spring riding horses that you see in old public playgrounds. He's wearing a party hat simply because he likes to party I guess, it kind of adds an adolescent characteristic to it as well that I like. Hope you guys dig the image, I had fun creating it :)

Just want to share with you guys a sketch I did of my cousin Rob today. Haven't used grey markers in a longgg time so it was fun messing around with them. Putting use to the new grey markers I got from my cousin Rob for Christmas no less :)

Finished Number Book!

Hello hello! So the day has finally come, after many hours of hard work the number book "Count at the Zoo!" is completed. Not to toot my own horn or anything but I'm really pleased with the way it turned out, I really enjoyed the subject matter and had fun playing with colors. I hope all the kids down in Austin, TX will love this book which will be given out to them free courtesy of Carousel Pediatrics :) I will say that it is very rewarding to know that these educational books are going to reach the hands children who are less fortunate. My gratitude goes out to Rachel Wood who has given me the opportunity to create this series and allow me to build some solid portfolio pieces along the way. I cannot thank her enough.

Progressing

What's up guys, hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to share how my sleeve is developing and to give much appreciation to my cousin Rob Benigno's Tattoo work. It's exciting to see how the sleeve is progressing after each appointment I have, and I'm proud to wear such great work for the rest of my life. I've always loved the art of tattooing and seeing the styles of many different artists. Many of which are also very successful illustrators, with good reason. They have great work and interesting styles that adapt very well to the world of illustration. Some of my favorite artists include Jeff Gogue ( http://gogueart.blogspot.com/ ), Jesse Smith ( http://www.jessesmithtattoos.com ), and Electric Pick ( http://www.electricpick.com ). Nearly there

St. Nicholas

Greetings all, this is just some personal work that I worked on today. I've always been inspired by vintage illustrations of Jolly ol' St. Nick, especially those of J.C. Leyendecker. This is my interpretation of a classical Santa Claus. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday filled with lots of laughter and quality time with the ones you love <3

COLOR

Hey guys, it is my pleasure to give you a few images from my very first published children's book entitled "Color". After some minor tweaking the book is finally on it's way to resting in the hands of kid's under the care of Carousel Pediatrics in Austin, TX. It's pretty cool to see my work developed into an actual publication and I couldn't be more grateful to be given the opportunity to do so. Number Book Sketches

So I couldn't wait any longer to get some full size sketches from the next children's book I'm working on. This is what I have so far, let me hear what you guys think!

Football Toss

Here's an illustration I did for TentandTable.com which will be displayed on a carnival style game for kids. It will basically be a football toss game where you have to throw a football through a square hole which will be cut out in between the players hands once the game is produced. Hope the kiddies have fun with this one :)

Number Book

Haii'P! So I just wanted to fill you guys in on the current workings progressing inside my home "studio", located in the shinin' fields of Pendleton NY. The gears are starting to get moving on this second children's book for client Carousel Pediatrics and I'm pleased with how it's turning out so far. Being that it's the second in the educational series, I'm starting to find a little niche or path I guess you could say. A much clearer idea of how I want the series to develop stylistically. This current book will be a basic counting book with the theme of Zoo animals which is right down my alley. I've always had a great love of animals so theres enjoyment in the creative process leading the development of the artwork. Also, my sincere gratitude goes out to my good friend Rachel Wood, who it's a pleasure to also have as my Art Director. She's been great to work with and awesome concerning her allowing me the privilege of artistic freedom. I don't want to spoil the completed book so these are just a couple teaser sketches folks, hope you enjoy and keep posted to check out the final work :)

Bounce Houses

What's up boys and girls? First off, let me start by wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving, and let anyone know who's working black friday like me that I feel your pain. But onto the news..

Back in mid October I landed a new freelance job with a local company in Buffalo called TentandTable.com who work alongside with another company called ABC Rental. These guys deal with everything for big parties, birthdays, weddings, bar mitzvahs, you know. But what I've been hired for is to recreate some very much dated artwork that you see on the side of kids Bounce Houses. So the first one is for a Princess theme and others with be Racecars, Mission to Mars, Jungle, etc. This is the only one I've finished so far, so I hope you guys enjoy. I'll post some pics of the artwork on the actually inflatable once it all comes together. Until then, happy holidays everyone
